Working Title: Untitled Project

We began our collaboration by doing a bit of social research, both outside of and inside of our own lived experiences. Going off the theme of ‘fragile states,’ and with a hope to engage with the audience in some ways, we asked the general public questions related to fragility and found that people were generally more eager to tell stories of physical fragility and the loss of objects than to talk about psychological or emotional fragility. We also created a set of questions by ourselves, which guided us to further sharing of thoughts. These research and personal stories, and ways of feeling and thinking we collected led us to the idea of working with a narrative for the Nomadic Soundsters project. We each wrote a short story, touching on themes of related to identity, the body, healing, and what we might discover during fragile states.

We are hopeful that themes from each of our short stories will fuse together into a new narraviate in a digital space. We are currently experimenting with audiovisual material. Aine has sent video performances to Bryce who has been investigating the possibilities of transforming Aine’s voice and movements and introducing her to other “characters” in this space. We are currently seeking more movement artists to join our project.
