Notes about - (Un)Umbrella the Sky video demo
This demo is a demonstration of Doug Bielmeier's "windowing" technique: the manipulation of found sound files by the stretching and compression of time, sample rate, bit depth, and window size. The layering and temporal placement of these windows creates larger sonic landscapes for the creation of musical works divorced of their source context. In the video Doug uses the original demo audio of Christian Preski's "(Un)Umbrella the Sky" along with demo video of Sammy Gerraty's choreography. Though a "rough cut" this type of content will be further manipulated by Erich Barganier with the software WeKinator.

(Un)Umbrella the Sky
A video, dance, and fixed audio project by Christian Preski, Sammy Gerraty, Erich Barganier, and Doug Bielmeier. The work, based on an original song by Christian Preski, explores themes of social justice, ecology, and the loss of indigenous persons' heritage and identity. Currently, the work is in the experimental stage: Doug Bielmeier’s working with his technique of Windowing to develop new and sonically related material. As the piece develops the group members aim to incorporate additional visuals and sound. The group seeks to employ dance controlled audio processing via the dance of Sammy Gerraty and the manipulation of the software WeKinator by Erich Barganier.
